HA/W Baffle

ABR2-6 – Acoustic Treatment of a fitness centre with HA/W Acoustic Rafts

HA/W Baffles are a range of light weight acoustic panels which combine dramatic appearance with excellent acoustic performance.

They are designed to be seen from any angle, allowing almost unlimited design possibilities for acoustic treatment.

HA/W Baffles can be used to transform the acoustics of new and existing buildings whilst leaving the main features of the roofspace exposed. Alternatively, they can be used to conceal ducting and services without the drawbacks of a full acouistic ceiling.

The smaller sized rectangular HA/W Baffles can be suspended vertically as a free hanging baffle system.

Vertical baffles are individually suspended on cables, or clipped to a grid system for rapid installation.

Alternatively, larger HA/W Baffles – squares, discs and rectangles – are suspended horizontally as acoustic rafts either tight to the ceiling or on cables to create a 3D effect.

The large panels are also designed for use as high level wall absorbers to complement roof mounted systems.

Typical applications include conversion of existing high roof buildings, atria, office and schools with thermal mass ceilings, cafes, bars and restaurants.

HA/W Baffles are easy to install. Panels are fully finished and require no perimiter trims.

Suspension cables and brackets are attached to the rear of panels with a wind-in corkscrew hanger which provides a versatile and secure fixing. A range of attachment options are available.

The noise absorption coefficient is given below, measured in accordance with ISO 354 (reverberant room method).

HA/W Baffles are manufactured from acoustic material which gives Class A absorption performance.

When made into HA/W Baffles, they are tested as individual panels (or as part of a group of panels). The performance quoted is absorption per baffle, rather than absorption per m2. This reflects how they are designed to be used – as independant units suspended in space. In general, HA/W baffles give much better performance than an equivalent area of continuous panelling.

HA/W Baffles mounted with a small gap to the wall or soffit give particularly good improvements at low frequency.

Class O under UK building regulations

Euroclass A2-s1-d0 (EN 13501-1)

All HA/W Baffles are 40mm thick, with a reinforced and painted square edge detail.

1200 x 300 (HA/W Vertical Baffle) 1200 x 600 (HA/W Vertical Baffle) 1200 x 1200 (HA/W Square)
1200 x 2400 (HA/W Rectangle) 1200 Dia (HA/W Disc) 800 Dia (HA/W Disc)

HA/W Baffles are supplied in white as a standard stock item.

Most RAL colours can be supplied as a special order, subject to minimum quantities. Additional costs are involved.

HA/W Baffles are finished in a crisp white micropourous paint.

The surface is suitable for vacuum cleaning (use a soft brush attachment) and for wiping with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.
